The National Association of Basketball Coaches released its 2010 Division II All-District Teams and Coaches on Tuesday, March 16. Fort Hays State junior guard Dominique Jones earned All-District Second Team honors in the South Central District. He was one of four players from the MIAA to earn all-district honors. Jones and the other four selections made up the All-MIAA First Team, released a couple of weeks ago.
Jones led the 23-7 Tigers in scoring in 2009-10, averaging 13.0 points per game. He also finished as the team leader in 3-point field goals made (56), assists per game (3.9) and steals per game (1.7). He also shot just under 81 percent at the free-throw line (.808).
Jones is a native of Harlem, N.Y., and transferred to Fort Hays State from the Fashion Institute of Technology prior to the 2009-10 season.
